The ONS estimates economic growth continued during the quarter at 0.8%, which is the fastest rate for three years.
Consumer spending, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of UK economic activity, also rose 0.8%.
Business investment grew by 1.4% in the July-to-September, after falling 2.7% in the previous quarter.
